The aerogel spear is one of the two melee weapons in the game. The aerogel spear has a five move combo, not a two move combo. The first and third move is a swing with a very wide arc, dealing 15 damage. The second and fourth move is a stab, dealing 20 damage. The fifth move is also a swing with a very wide arc, however the hitbox is larger and it has the ability to ragdoll entities on hit. It also has a block move, allowing you to block and parry enemies.
