The Trench Coat is a... trench coat... (I don't know what you were expecting).
Despite the description, the Trench Coat is pretty decent at providing you with protection, giving you about as much defense as the Helmet Heavy. It does reduce walkspeed by a minor amount, however.
It's color can be changed with the clothing color option.
